Learn about what we do
At just 19 years old, Fred purchased land and began farming cattle and grain. Alongside farming, he gained hands-on experience in the oil patch while working for Glentall Trenching.
1984

Launched his first business venture: Boisvert Trenching 2.0, laying the foundation for a future in underground utilities and civil work.

1988
Boisvert Underground was incorporated, offering services in fibre optic installation, gas lines, water and sewer infrastructure, and demolition. Major clients included SaskTel and SaskEnergy.
Acquired the company’s first gravel crusher, marking the beginning of JDL’s growth into aggregate production and expanding into multiple phases of heavy civil construction.

JDL Underground Ltd. was officially incorporated. The name “JDL” represents the initials of Fred’s children, solidifying the company’s family-owned roots.
2009

Acquired OK Tire in Biggar, now operating under JDL Tires, expanding into automotive and commercial tire services.

Expanded operations further with the purchase of a concrete plant, allowing the team to provide end-to-end support on infrastructure and development projects.
Achieved COR Certification, joined ComplyWorks and ISNetworld, and secured bonding capacity for project bidding.
